High-definition liposuction is the disciplined removal of fat in a way that reveals — rather than imposes — the underlying muscular anatomy. The work is done in layers. Superficial fat is sculpted to expose the linea alba, the lateral borders of the rectus, the iliac crest. Deeper fat is removed for volume reduction. The result reads as athletic and natural; not over-defined, never carved.

How this is approached at the practice

  • VASER ultrasound assistance for selective emulsification, sparing connective tissue.
  • Tumescent infiltration to limit blood loss and improve uniformity.
  • Layered sculpting that respects the patient's frame, age, and natural anatomy.
  • Fat-grafting available in the same session for transposition (e.g. abdomen to buttocks).

Who benefits from HD Liposuction

Liposuction is a contouring procedure, not a weight-loss procedure. The right candidate is at or close to a stable weight and seeks definition in localised areas — flanks, abdomen, axilla, inner thighs, sub-mental — that diet and exercise have not been able to refine.

  • BMI under 30 with localised stubborn fat deposits
  • Skin elasticity sufficient to retract over the new contour
  • Stable weight for the previous six months
  • No untreated metabolic or thyroid condition
  • Able to wear a compression garment for six weeks

Layered, ultrasound-assisted sculpting

The procedure, step by step.

Through 3 – 4 mm access ports placed in natural skin creases, tumescent fluid is infiltrated, ultrasound energy emulsifies the fat selectively, and microcannulas remove the emulsion in two layers. Drains are not routinely required.

  1. 01

    1. Marking

Standing marking with the patient's mirror — anatomical landmarks, treatment zones, and feathered transition areas are drawn together.

  2. 02

    2. Tumescent infiltration

A dilute solution of saline, lidocaine and adrenaline is infiltrated into the treatment fields, providing analgesia and limiting bleeding.

  3. 03

    3. Ultrasound emulsification

VASER probes selectively emulsify adipose tissue while sparing fibrous and vascular structures.

  4. 04

    4. Layered aspiration

Microcannulas remove the emulsion. Deep fat is debulked first; superficial sculpting follows along anatomic landmarks.

  5. 05

    5. Closure and garment

Access ports are closed with a single suture and the compression garment is fitted in theatre.

Recovery

Week by week — what to expect.

Final aesthetic settling at 4 – 6 months · Social downtime: Compression garment 6 weeks, social downtime 7 – 10 days

Day 0 – 2

Drainage and tightness

Tumescent fluid drains through the access ports for 24 – 36 hours. Tightness rather than pain. Walk every two hours.

Week 1

Bruising and oedema

Bruising peaks at day five. Compression garment day and night. Lymphatic drainage massage from day three.

Week 2 – 4

Returning to routine

Desk work from day seven. Light cardio from week three. The contour is hidden under oedema for the first month.

Month 3

Definition appears

70% of swelling resolved. Garment now worn at night only. Strength training resumes.

Month 6

Final contour

Definition crystallises. Skin retraction completes. Photographs taken at six and twelve months.

Risk disclosure

We tell you everything that can happen.

Surgery carries risk. The most important conversation in any consultation is the one about what could go wrong, what we will do if it does, and what we cannot guarantee. The list below is a partial summary; the full discussion happens in person.

Contour irregularity

The most common imperfection is a small ridge or dimple. Most respond to massage; minor revision is occasionally needed.

Seroma

A collection of fluid under the skin in approximately 2 – 4% of cases. Drained in clinic.

Skin discoloration

Bruising-related pigmentation can persist for several months, particularly in darker skin types. Topical regimens are prescribed.

Numbness

Temporary numbness over treated areas is universal and resolves over three to six months.

Fat embolism

A rare but serious complication. We mitigate risk through strict patient selection, technique, and intra-operative monitoring.

Frequent questions

Before you book.

Will the fat come back?+

Removed fat cells do not return. However, the remaining fat cells in the body can still enlarge if weight is gained, so a stable lifestyle protects the result.

How many areas can be done in one session?+

We typically treat up to four anatomic zones in a single session for safety. Larger requests are staged over two operations.

Is this the same as the 'six-pack' surgery I have seen online?+

Aggressive abdominal etching produces an unnaturally rendered appearance and ages poorly. Dr. Saeed practises restrained HD sculpting that respects the patient's anatomy.

Can I have liposuction with a tummy tuck?+

Yes — this combination is part of the Mommy Makeover and is performed routinely.

Begin with a written surgical plan.

A consultation lasts 60 – 90 minutes and ends with a printed plan and quotation. There is no pressure to decide in the room.
